He Tookthe OneI Wed
If Death were a man, I would challenge him to a brawl, shoulder to shoulder, till I left him weak enough to crawl. He should fear me, lest he be dethroned and torn to shreds; I rage because his filthy hands have touched the one I wed.
He entered like a thief and filled my house with sorrow, stole my jewel from my arms and buried my tomorrow. Now she sleeps beneath the grass, beyond the reach of breath, alone beneath the thunder in the bridal bed of Death.
If tears were ransom enough to bring back the one I love, I would drown the earth beneath them and leave no sky above.
O Dark Reaper, have you come for what you left alive? Come then, coward. Face me while there is still blood enough to fight. You hide inside the darkness and steal what daylight guards; you tore the warmth out of my bed and left me with the stars.
Take me beyond their gathering. I would gladly follow you, if somewhere past your kingdom waits the one I wed.
